Launch of Go Local First Campaign

Economic Development Team - Mid-Western Regional Council - Mudgee Region Business

Mid-Western Regional Council is partnering with Business Mudgee, Gulgong Chamber of Commerce, Rylstone Kandos Chamber of Commerce and Mudgee Region Tourism for a campaign to urge residents to spend locally and support businesses affected by lockdown. The Go Local First campaign highlights the ongoing need for residents to purchase locally to support the region’s business and economic recovery.

Local businesses are strongly encouraged to get involved in the campaign by signing up at Go Local First and reserving free merchandise to display in their business premises and windows.

Business owners are then recommended to:

  • Join the campaign’s Small Business Partners Facebook Group to access toolkits and social assets
  • Use the campaign’s social media assets and official hashtag #GoLocalFirst to highlight and promote their business on digital channels
  • Create case studies of their customer’s support, and use them to tell stories on social media about how their customers and all local residents are important to business survival
  • Promote the campaign by liking and sharing Go Local First posts, messages and advertising to raise awareness
