In this webinar, we will provide a simple explanation of how the tax rules apply to sole traders and partnerships and provide a few planning tips for the end of the financial year. We will also provide guidance for you to decide whether end of year planning is actually worth the effort.

Learning objectives:
1. Identify differences between sole traders, partnerships, and companies
2. Understand what is end of year financial planning
3. Decide if end of year planning is suitable for my business

1. Understand tax implications of different business structures.
2. Be able to decide whether to do end of year planning for this year.

About the presenter:
Martin O’Donnell has had small businesses and partnerships for over 35 years as well as significant commercial accounting experience in large enterprises. As a small business adviser, he realises the importance of breaking down the subject into easy-to-understand segments for all participants regardless of existing knowledge.

Martin is an experienced financial manager and retail business owner He has held executive level finance and management roles with Griffith Producers Cooperative and has consulted to numerous agricultural and other enterprises.
Martin has significant hands-on experience in agribusiness, hospitality, finance, marketing and running medium sized business. The commercial accounting background enables a quick and timely review of the operations of existing business and identifies what to focus on for new starts.

He passed the CPA exams, has a Bachelor of Business and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Martin’s aim is to use this commercial and hands on experience to assist business owners to become more in control of their enterprises and future. Martin is an Accredited Mental Health First Aider.
