Region’s Lowest Unemployment Rate in over 12 Years
Latest data has revealed that the Mid-Western Region’s unemployment rate has decreased half a percent to 1.8 per cent for the December 2022 quarter. This is the region’s lowest unemployment rate in over 12 years, and 1.2 per cent and 2.1 per cent lower than the NSW and Orana Region unemployment rates respectively.
As at the December 2022 quarter the region’s labour force was 13,354 people (the lowest amount of workers since initial COVID-19 impacts in 2020), however there were only 237 unemployed people in the region.
Council provides a free platform for local employers and job seekers to connect. Mudgee Region Jobs allows employers to list vacant positions, and job seekers to search for these positions and create an online profile to capture the attention of local employers.
